Are you ready to join a team of talented modellers to help us shape and lead the future of the water industry
We are looking for hydraulic modelling professionals at various levels to support on hydrology surface water management flood risk and river modelling projects. If youre an experienced modeller or at the start of your career we want to hear from you.
You can be based in our Edinburgh Glasgow or Belfast offices whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. Reporting to our Water Team Lead you will be a key player in delivering water projects in the UK and abroad. From national flood alleviation schemes to pollution reduction initiatives and major infrastructure projects your work will be varied and pivotal in driving the development of innovative solutions to some of the most pressing waterrelated challenges.
As an industry leader in BlueGreen infrastructure and naturebased solutions we work with both public and private sector clients to deliver flood risk assessments drainage strategies hydraulic models detailed designs and outline business cases. We also advise and develop guidance which benchmarks industry best practice meaning AECOM is at the cutting edge of the Water industry. Heres what youll do:
- Deliver: Lead hydraulic model build and verification of integrated catchment models; oversee model development scope and plan projects including flow survey verification and lead development of catchment scale strategic solutions for flooding and pollution risks.
- Technical Expertise: Take the lead on technical innovation including application of new technologies; problem solve for our Clients and develop scopes and tender responses.
- Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports presentations and documentation to communicate modelling findings effectively using strong communication skills.
- Leadership: Mentor and support team members as part of their professional development. Foster positive Client relationships.
- Quality: Act as a reviewer of hydraulic models calculations and technical reports ensure a quality team delivery and compliance with modelling specifications.

Qualifications :
Ready to push the limits of whats possible
Heres what were looking for:
- A bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Sciences GIS Geography or similar subject.
- Chartered or working towards chartership with the ICE or CIWEM.
- Understanding of hydrology in the UK and worldwide.
- Experience in Hydraulic Modelling GIS or Data Analysis in particular ArcGIS or MapInfo.
- Experience using Innovyze ICM or Flood modeller/Tuflow.
- Experience being or working towards being the technical lead on hydrology and hydraulic modelling projects.
- Proven experience in water consultancy.
