Job Description

The Field Compliance Specialist (FCS) will work under the direction of the Compliance Manager traveling to assigned multifamily communities to complete the eligibility certifications for existing residents for continued occupancy and to qualify applicants for initial occupancy. The FCS acts as a traveling specialist and auditor ensuring compliance with best practices and industry regulations.

Pay: $77969 $79000 / Year

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direction and work with site staff to schedule and conduct resident/applicant certification interviews.
  • Provide direction and work with site staff to complete certifications timely.
  • Travel to selected communities portfoliowide to qualify residents for continued occupancy including Annual Certification Interim Certifications (if applicable) and Initial Certifications (as needed).
  • Make determinations on resident qualifications enforcing company policies procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct interviews review paperwork and interact with compliance teammates thirdparty services residents and applicants
  • Advise and guide file processing systems procedures and resources efficiently.
  • Coordinate inspections for recertifications in tandem with the Community Director as needed
  • Ensure that resident files are processed by following and enforcing company and regulatory policies.
  • Resolve recertification issues and disputes referring unresolved issues to the property supervisor.  
  • Conduct auditing tasks as assigned.
  • Complete and gather corrections necessary to close out noncompliant audits and physical findings from audits
  • Travel may at times be dayonly or overnight of various lengths to include daily multiple weeks at a time or monthly to various assigned locations.
  • Organization of files as needed/assigned.
  • Perform any other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in affordable program compliance and/or affordable property management including but not limited to LIHTC HUD USDARD HCD HOME and Bond programs.
  • Strong administrative skills highly motivated and organized with a positive attitude.
  • Competent analytical skills detailoriented with the ability to prioritize and produce excellent reports.
  • Proficiency in speaking reading and writing in English.
  • Proficient in Excel Microsoft Office Google
  • Preferred certifications in affordable housing such as NCHM AHMA NAHB NCP etc.
  • Proficiency in YARDI software.
  • Ability to travel regularly up to 95.
