Job Description

About the Role:

The primary objective of this position is to spearhead the enhancement and administration of our Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring robust support for Avondale operations. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager and being part of the Site Leadership Team the Quality Manager plays a pivotal handson leadership role. This role is crucial in driving quality improvements maintaining compliance and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage and update the Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring it is current assessed at management level and staff are trained.
  • Develop and implement riskbased assessments for qualityrelated risks across both sites driving actions and risk mitigation.
  • Drive adherence to the QMS at the operator level and ensure compliance with ISO and HACCP systems.
  • Utilise Quality Management Tools to support monitor and manage quality performance and documentation through the Document Management System (DMS).
  • Manage customer compliance requirements to Food Safety Standards handle all internal and external qualityrelated audits and oversee NonConformance quality activities.
  • Contribute and collaborate as a member of the PACT Steel leadership team managing technical and quality engagement with vendors and handling product technical drawings and artwork changes.

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • Relevant Diploma or Degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing and foodbased quality management.
  • Expertise in packaging particularly in steel and food packaging.
  • Indepth knowledge of food safety compliance including ISO system management.
  • Proven ability to manage external audit processes and nonconformance QA response systems.
  • Experience with QA release and change management systems including validating new suppliers or changes to existing supplier products.
  • Positive attitude and strong team player.
  • AP Certification is an advantage but not essential.
