High School Teachers hold the primary responsibility for the implementation and development of Uncommons curriculum and the success of its students. Therefore Uncommon Schools seeks teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level and school team. We are seeking teachers for the following subject areas:
Digital Arts: we are seeking a high school digital art teacher to oversee basic intermediate and advanced digital art classes for teenage students. These courses would include projects that allow participants to build a portfolio of work. This is a newly created position due to high student demand.
Instruction:
Youll teach all Digital Arts based content.
Youll implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
Youll design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
Youll use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
Youll participate in collaborative curriculum development gradelevel activities and schoolwide functions.
Youll provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior.
Youll be accountable for students mastery of academic standards.
School Culture and Daily School Activities:
Youll build positive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen loved and heard.
Youll partner with students families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their childs learning needs.
Youll engage in practicebased professional development mentorship and coaching sessions.
Youll support morning arrival lunch duty student assemblies class transitions and afterschool dismissal.

Required Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of combined experience with Digital Arts
Prior to the start of employment you must have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Teacher certification is not a prerequisite for consideration at Uncommon Schools in the state of NY but you do need to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 2.5. All instructional staff are required to become certified in the state of NY within a reasonable period after beginning employment.

Compensation
Compensation for this role is between $50000 to $64700.
Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant fulltime teaching experience education certifications and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without fulltime Teaching experience will likely have a starting salary of $50000.
