Job Description

At Bosch Research in Pittsburgh we are seeking a forwardthinking research intern to explore the development of autonomous AI agents that can perceive reason and act in realworld environments. This role offers the opportunity to design and implement agentic AI systems that integrate multimodal sensing generative AI and decisionmaking models to enable intelligent automation in dynamic environments.

This internship will focus on creating a demonstrator in a realworld setting where AI agents will autonomously interpret and respond to sensor data. The work will involve sensing anomaly detection and action recognition leveraging insights from cuttingedge multimodal AI techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI agents that interpret and respond to sensor data visual inputs and other signalbased modalities.
  • Evaluate system performance across diverse benchmarks and realworld conditions.
  • Show a proofofconcept demo.
  • Document findings and contribute to highimpact publications in leading AI conferences and journals.

Qualifications :

Required:

  • Currently enrolled as a PhD student in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in deep learning reinforcement learning and generative AI with expertise in computer vision (CV) natural language processing (NLP) or multimodal AI.
  • Proven track record of research contributions including publications in top AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS CVPR ICCV ICLR ACL EMNLP).
  • 2 years of programming experience in Python with proficiency in frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desired:

  • Experience in signalbased data processing (e.g. WiFi CSI audio data or timeseries sensor data).
  • Familiarity with agentic AI principles reinforcement learning and decisionmaking models.
  • Experience with anomaly detection and action recognition in multimodal AI applications.
  • Experience in finetuning VisionLanguage Models (VLMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs) for autonomous AI agents.
  • Knowledge of multimodal learning for integrating diverse sensor data into decisionmaking pipelines.

Demonstrated ability to innovate and develop AIdriven automation systems in realworld environments.
