Job Description

Hours for 2nd shift:
4:30 pm3 am starting wage based on experience $19$1.75 (differential) 

The Material Handler is responsible for performing tasks involving the shipping and receiving finished materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of but not be limited to the following:

  • Operating mechanical forklifts pallet jacks and stock picker lift trucks.
  • Operating and maintaining RF Scanner (handheld warehouse computer).
  • Accurate and timely selecting of orders  
  • Accurately completing work order sheets.  
  • Notify supervisor or FSQ of discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.
  • Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.
  • Daily shipments must be picked counts verified pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pickups marked accordingly to customer transportation and location of shipment.
  • Load finished goods onto trailer within specified timeframe.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of finished products and supplies in the warehouse.
  • Safety Operate a Forklift Pallet Jack and/or Strait Truck
  • Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training along with company prerequisite programs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Cleaning and maintaining warehouse floor and facilities as needed. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Following set company and OSHA safety rules regulations and guidelines at all times.

Qualifications :

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Preferred:       

  • 13 Months related manufacturing or food experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and lift trucks experience.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain purchasing materials and/or Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of SAP.

REQUIRED SKILLS KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Attention to detail
  • Work well with others
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; must work effectively with others.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment.
