Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Collector Substation Engineer with a strong background in renewables and collector or generation side experience.
Ideal Candidate:
*** The ideal candidate will come from an engineering consulting firm such as Burns & McDonnell Leidos TRC etc.
*** The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement collector substation projects with a focus on renewable energy generation and integration.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop project plans specifications and cost estimates.
- Perform equipment selection layout design and technical evaluations for substation components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards regulations and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance during construction testing and commissioning phases.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and ensure proper implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5 years of experience in substation engineering with at least one year on the generation side.
- Experience from a consulting company rather than a utility.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration with substations.
- Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools.
