Utah Community Action is hiring for an Assistant Preschool Teacher in the Salt Lake area. The Assistant Teacher position earns a competitive wage of $20.89/hour. This is a yearround position that works 40 hours a week. 7:45am4:15pm typical schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY

As an Assistant Teacher you come to work each day excited and ready to make a difference in childrens lives. Working cooperatively with two other teachers you teach a class of approx. 18 children each ages 05yrs. You help develop weekly lesson plans to ignite the curiosity and growth of the children in our preschool. You assist the Lead Teacher in tracking each childs growth through observations portfolio documentation developmental checklist and assessment data.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an associate or bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education/Family and Consumer Studies or a related field required.

OTHER DUTIES

• Assists in planning supporting and implementing learning experiences that advance the childrens social emotional cognitive and physical development.
• Assists in maintaining accurate and uptodate records.
• Collaborates with others in identifying referring and providing services and support to children with special needs.
• Assists in developing supporting and implementing behavior plans and/or appropriate interventions.
• Assists in conducting a minimum of two Home Visits and two StaffParent Conferences during the school year.
• Continues professional development through researchbased coordinated coaching strategies trainings peer mentoring and college classes.
• Establishes and maintains a safe healthy learning environment.
