360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED. The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cuttingedge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies expertise and enabling activities as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. The Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking an experienced highly motivated collaborative and customercentric labbased scientific professional with a focus on the application of metabolic profiling technologies to drug discovery projects. The successful candidate will have a robust background in the life sciences with demonstrated expertise in implementing and applying LCMSbased metabolomic workflows. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team interacting with colleagues within the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform to implement and execute experimental paradigms to advance investigative metabolomics studies. You will also participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform within the pRED organization.
Your Role and Responsibilities
You will implement and optimise both untargeted and targeted metabolomics workflows including sample preparation LCMS measurement using highend mass spectrometry instrumentation and data analysis;
You will support multiple collaborations across therapeutic disease areas by generating and analyzing metabolomics experiments contribute to the delivery of project reports and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner;
You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to contribute to general laboratory operations within the Proteomics & Metabolomics Technology Platform; including instrument maintenance experimental troubleshooting as well as the evaluation of new technologies;
You embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/approaches in the biomarker discovery field.
You have a BS or MS degree in biochemistry chemistry or a related field with documented research experience in metabolomics preferably within either the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with additional expertise in proteomics being considered a plus;
You have proven handson expertise in the implementation and of various biochemical sample preparation workflows. You also demonstrate high competency in the operation of LCMS systems and are familiar with targeted and untargeted metabolomics workflows;
You are proficient with the software tools and resources commonly used in the processing and analysis of metabolomics data.
