SALARY (Nonnegotiable)
$31616 $39 873 includes employee benefits package
Pay Grade 3
HOURS
40 hours 12 months 260 days
Contract Unit: This position is part of the nonsupervisory support services bargaining unit.
FLSA: Nonexempt
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Two 2 years of grounds maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively using the English language when deemed necessary.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds; ability to climb ladders and work at various heights.
Ability to work outside in hot cold or inclement weather.
Possession of a valid drivers license.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Function independently or a part of a work crew engaged in school district property maintenance projects and tasks.
Perform grounds maintenance activities i.e. mulching mowing trimming edging blowing planting foliage power washing.
Perform shrubbery and tree care i.e. pruning limbs shaping hedges cutting branches.
Perform pavement and asphalt maintenance activities i.e. cutting out edges patching sidewalks patching potholes.
Perform structural maintenance activities i.e. mulching playground repairing fences and gates.
Operate various electric gas and manually powered tools and equipment i.e. saws sprayers air compressors mowers blowers weedeaters hedge trimmers snow blowers.
Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment tools and materials utilized
Ensure adherence to principles and practices of safe use and operation of equipment tools and materials.
Respond to after hour service calls.
Respond to and take appropriate action in the event of emergency or critical incidents to resolve confine or otherwise prevent potentially injurious or hazardous conditions.
Maintain regular ontime attendance.
Perform related work as required.
