Job Summary:
The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a fulltime XRay Technologist/TH Medical Radiographer successful candidate will:
- Be a licensed radiological technologist required to perform diagnostic imaging including general xray portables fluoroscopy and all other applicable diagnostic exams.
- Be familiar with all diagnostic equipment including portable and fluoroscopic equipment and the operating room.
- Have the ability to produce high quality images efficiently regardless of volume. Performs exams in accordance with established protocols.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide assistance to external and internal costumers and provide excellent customer service.
- Be responsible for patient care while performing imaging to include accuracy of patient identification.
- Be able to deal with emergent situations.
- Maintain principle of ALARA.
- Have the ability to teach House Staff or other personnel in the technical aspects of imaging equipment.
- Have prior experience with computerized patient information systems including Radiology Information Systems and PACS
- Complete all exams immediately in RIS and verify on PACS.
- Burn CDs and DVDs when necessary.
- Have scheduling flexibility as hours may change on as needed basis according to departmental operating needs.
- Adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and department policies and procedures to include principle of behavior.
- Adhere to hospital/ department infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients.
- Adhere to time and attendance policies.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
- New York State Radiography Licensure.
- Associate of Applied Science Degree or equivalent.
- ARRT registration.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in all diagnostic xray procedures in a hospital setting preferred.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm(FullTime)
