EMPLOYMENT TYPE: $15.00/hour. TemporaryParttime. Nonbenefit eligible. SUMMARY The Continuing Education Instructor Assistant is responsible for assisting the lead instructor and students in attaining their class goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Attend and actively participate in all class activities.
- With instructor guidance assist and present the subject matter to the students and meet
- the course syllabus provided by the instructor.
- Demonstrate a professional and helpful attitude toward students.
- With instructor guidance provide an effective learning experience for the student.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High School diploma/equivalent AND
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and teaching competency
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Ability and willingness to serve as a representative for the College by interacting appropriately with the community
- Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC
- Ability to maintain effective and positive professional relationships
- Ability to follow and issue instructions
- Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships. Fosters positive student and community relations
- Demonstrated communication presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet all assigned classes
- Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to respond in the event of an emergency
- Ability to perform a Medium Duty job according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 2050 pounds of force occasionally and/or 1025 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
