Job Description:
The Director of Procurement implements detailed category strategies to improve spending within various service lines. They work with a diverse crossfunctional team including sourcing operations technical and finance to set priorities for sourcing initiatives develop sourcing strategies negotiate contracts manage the transition of spending from current suppliers to preferred suppliers and oversee relationships with preferred suppliers.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads global category initiatives to achieve key category performance indicators including savings supplier rationalization lowcost region sourcing and risk management.
- Engages in the development and of global sourcing strategies focused on identifying and contracting with preferred suppliers that align with key business needs and category management objectives.
- Responsible for monitoring market intelligence and key trends assessing their impact and refining category plans to support business requirements.
- Engages and supports division/site procurement teams and other key colleagues to qualify preferred suppliers and migrate spend from nonpreferred suppliers.
- Analyzing category supplier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and establish continuous improvement goals is also a critical responsibility.
- Participates in supplier business reviews to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement and performance standards.
- Facilitates the dissemination of spend intelligence and analysis to internal business leaders to enhance their decisionmaking processes and drives negotiations for global agreements aligned with category strategy.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in a business or an equivalent combination of experience and education is a prerequisite for this role.
- A minimum of 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in multinational companies with a strong emphasis on category/business engagement.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries.
- Handson manufacturing or supply chain experience is preferred
