General Summary:
Accountable leader for planning organizing and directing all activities and operations related to patient care for Medical Imaging. Ensures effectiveness and oversees day to day operations for Imaging modalities as assigned at all campus and satellite locations. Responsibilities including setting priorities developing policies and procedures resource management operational financial and staff staff engagement patient/family experience compliance/regulatory and quality improvement activities. Continually evaluates progress towards objectives and ensures day to day operations are efficient and effective. Works in partnership with hospital leaders medical group leaders and department leaders to ensure alignment and integration of operations for maximum performance. Directly supervises managers and staff and supports teams to accomplish department and hospital goals and meet customer needs. Models appropriate leadership behaviors and fosters a health inclusive and diverse work environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Directs and manages Medical Imaging service operations to provide the highest level of patient care performance clinical excellence and efficient utilization of resources available within designated areas of responsibility. Provides administrative and clinical leadership for the imaging team and is accountable for assigned modality operational performance.
Leads and manages people resources. Responsible for developing and directing optimal and sustainable staffing patterns aligned to operational performance throughput and efficiency. the selection and ongoing development of all staff within designated areas of responsibility; assures clinical expertise of staff in collaboration with modality managers lead technologists and clinical educator. Provides educational and professional development opportunities identifies opportunities for interdisciplinary teams and oversees their development. Encourages professional growth and development amongst staff.
Accountable for achievement of strategic outcomes; collaborates in outreach efforts; assures the delivery of comprehensive safe effective and appropriate care in accordance with hospital policy and professional standards; accountable for departmental compliance with applicable regulatory and licensing requirements.
Utilizes understanding of the clinical knowledge educational support and research endeavors necessary to create excellence in medical imaging; develops and implements systems that ensure standardization and optimization of clinical practice; identifies develops and monitors progress toward achievement of both individual departmental and corporate goals and objectives; serves as a leader and guide in the project management and process improvement processes.
Participates in operational planning processes; plans and facilitates clear consistent and effective communication to assure optimum flow of information; develops implements and evaluates the effectiveness of operational processes within designated areas of responsibility and as applicable throughout the organization.
Leads and facilitates quality improvement initiatives for designated areas of responsibility and as applicable throughout the organization; plans and implements system changes that enhance organizational performance; institutes practice changes based upon best practices and evidencebased outcomes from the monitoring and evaluation of quality activities and/or pediatric imaging research.
Accountable for financial management; plans prepares and monitors capital and operating budget in collaboration with the executive director and multidisciplinary team members; establishes & maintains systems per modality that support financial management accountability within designated areas of responsibility.
Leads and manages people resources. Responsible for the selection and ongoing development of all staff within designated areas of responsibility; assures clinical expertise of staff in collaboration with modality managers lead technologists and clinical educator. Provides educational and professional development opportunities identifies opportunities for interdisciplinary teams and oversees their development. Encourages professional growth and development amongst staff.
Pursues professional opportunities and networks which enhance own professional knowledge and advancement as well as excellence within medical imaging. Guides and mentors others to do the same.
Facilitates collaborative partnerships with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure that patient needs are met.
The authority to hire separate promote demote write and administer performance evaluations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Bachelors degree required.
Minimum 5 years of related Imaging experience in hospital/healthcare setting with at least 3 years of progressive leadership experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of issues trends practices and systems related to pediatric medical imaging health care administration and finance usually acquired through progressive leadership experience.
Possesses strong leadership skills ability to lead a team; excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills as well as computer skills.
Fundamental understanding of budgeting process from creation through monitoring/analyzing of variance; and fundamental understanding of hospital information systems.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a collaborative and facilitative style.
Basic Life Support Certification required.

Pay Range
$119600.00$197350.40 SalaryAt Lurie Childrens we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity reflecting individual contributions experience and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.In addition to base salary Lurie Childrens offer a comprehensive rewards package that may include differentials for some hourly employees leadership incentivesfor select roles health and retirement benefits and wellbeing programs.
