The Chemical Production Technician I is responsible for manufacturing production batches of media following Phenomenex SOPs company policies and other guidelines.
The Instrumentation Technician II will be responsible for supporting the metrology team. This role involves performing various tasks including inhouse calibrations preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repair on a range of equipment such as HighPressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) balances timers and other lab equipment. Additionally the position requires coordinating onsite services related to preventative maintenance and calibration of lab equipment. Also supports the accuracy of the calibration and maintenance database in the equipment management system and the ability to provide KPI reports.
This position reports to the Metrology Manager and is part of the Engineering Test Engeineering & Metrology located in Torrance CA and will be an onsite role. This role operates during the first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
What well get you doing:
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on HPLC systems and inhouse calibrations following internal procedures and/or per the manufacturers manuals. Investigate and resolve discrepancies within the calibrated instruments and document any outoftolerance occurrences following internal procedures.
- Ensure that calibration and PM related documents are filled out accurately according to the companys Good Documentation Practices and are completed before uploading them into the equipment management system.
- Maintain the Kanban system within Maintenance Connection or other applicable software. Ensure that the Kanban system is updated within a day or two upon receiving new spare parts. Additionally update the Kanban system immediately when issuing parts for repairs and maintenance.
The essential requirements of the role include:
- High school diploma and 3 years related experience OR
- College degree and 2 years related experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience using HPLC systems and chromatography software.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- ASQ Calibration Technician Certificate a plus
- Maintaining awareness of industry regulations pertaining to calibration (e.g. ISO 17025.
- Strong customer service skills.
- ASQ Certification.
The hourly range for this role is $28.89 $31.46/hr. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
