Job Description

What will you help us create Work hard. Have fun. Make a Senior Software Development Engineer in Device OS group you will conceive design and deliver innovative features that will be deployed to high volume consumer products. You will work closely with internal interdisciplinary teams and outside partners to drive key aspects of feature definition and test. You must be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role you will:
Architect develop and deliver features for new and existing embedded system products.
Investigate prototype and deliver innovative solutions.
Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software.
Use architectural principles select design patterns and mentor other team members.
Develop necessary safeguards to ensure compliance and adherence to best practices for delivering highquality embedded system solutions.
Work with crossfunctional teams and senior engineering and product teams to build and ship technical solutions for the best customer experiences.
7 years of noninternship professional software development experience
6 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
8 years of embedded software development experience using C/C or Java.
6 years of strong Android Framework and Android fullstack experience.
Good understanding of Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) Android build systems and SELinux internals.
Understanding of embedded system development constraints.
Experienced in working effectively in a crossfunctional team.
Experience as a mentor tech lead OR leading an engineering team.
Proven ability to work effectively in a crossfunctional teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
