Job Summary

The Continuity Program Specialist will support Emergency Management develop and oversee the Universitys Continuity Program by assisting departments in developing their continuity plans integrating the plans into a comprehensive Universitywide plan and aligning them with other key initiatives such as the Emergency Operations Plan. This role provides a valuable opportunity for a proactive detailoriented student to gain practical experience in emergency management and continuity (business continuity continuity of operations) within a dynamic higher education environment.

Duties Include:
Collaborating with University departments to support continuity planning efforts.
Inputting and organizing continuity data to develop cohesive plans.
Performing resource typing and upload building information for GIS mapping.
Maintaining accurate documentation of continuity plans procedures and associated materials.
Assisting in the design coordination and of testing and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of continuity plans.
Partnering with various University departments to promote continuity and preparedness initiatives.
Support the Universitys Continuity Program Manager (Assistant Director Emergency Management) with administration of the Program

Pay Rate

$15/hour

Required Qualifications

Must be professional highly motivated personable timely and detail oriented with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Must be in good standing with both academic and University conduct at the time of application throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous coursework or experience in emergency management general business or a related field.

Work Hours

A minimum of 12 hours per week. Schedule would be agreed upon by the selected applicant and emergency management director.

Important Information for Applicants

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and if applicable an employment history review based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation and/or an employment history review. Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of oncampus employment for all positions held.
