Job Description
Examines patients with breathingrelated conditions and conducts diagnostic testing. Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient. Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications.
Reports to: Director Respiratory Care & Neurodiagnostic Services
Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy Required
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer skills required.
Certifications:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Required to be current upon hire.
ACLS & PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Required within 12 months of employment if not current upon hire
NRP certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Required within 12 months of employment if not current upon hire
Licenses: Licensed by the State of Tennessee as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with ABG endorsement. Temporary initial licensure letter by the State of Tennessee as a graduate respiratory care practitioner acceptable without ABG endorsement until state licensure is issued.
Minimum of 6 months Respiratory Care experience preferred
