There are four precincts in Harris County. The four elected commissioners along with an elected county judge serve as members of Harris County Commissioners Court the administrative head of the countys government. What you will do at Precinct One:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Camp Program Assistant to support our youth summer program by leading nature and environmental education activities for children ages 5 to 13. This role involves facilitating handson learning experiences that encourage curiosity environmental awareness and outdoor exploration. Training will be provided for all curriculum content and staff will receive certification in First Aid and CPR. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children is a strong communicator and is passionate about nature and education.
**This is a temporary position starting June 2 2025 and ending August 8 2025**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
What you will bring to Precinct One
Education:
Must be at least 16 years of age and currently enrolled in upperlevel high school (junior or senior year)
College or university students are strongly encouraged to apply
Experience:
No prior work experience required; however an interest in biology environmental science animal science or elementary education
Experience participating in or leading outdoor activities such as hikes or nature
Comfort with or interest in handling animals such as snakes turtles lizards rabbits and birds
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Education:
Educational background or interest in education environmental science or child development (preferred)
