Purpose of Role
PH 512 Public Health Nutrition
This 3credit online course will examine the relationship between food systems nutrition and public health. The first half of the course focuses on todays public health crises related to the food environment agriculture dietrelated chronic diseases food insecurity and food and nutrition population approaches to obesity and cardiovascular disease. The second half of the course focuses on nutritional epidemiology plantbased nutrition food as medicine interventions institutional food procurement programs to address populationlevel health and food and nutritionfocused grant writing. This is an elective course within the Master of Public Health Program at Daemen University.
About This Opportunity
Joining our Master of Public Health team the Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for the following:
The Public Health Department seeks an adjunct faculty member who is qualified to teach a course in public health nutrition. Specifically the applicant should be able to teach nutrition related content with application to Master of Public Health program graduate students. The course is fully online so proficiency in online synchronous and asynchronous instruction is preferred.
Required Qualifications
Candidates will hold a MS degree or higher in nutrition or another related discipline with a demonstrated expertise and interest in public health education. Significant public health work graduate teaching experience and involvement in community and/or global health activities are preferred.
