Patrol district property to protect all students personnel and visitors from physical harm and prevent property loss due to theft or vandalism. Enforce all laws including municipal ordinances county ordinances and state laws. Works independently.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Texas Peace Officer License issued by TCOLE
Clear and valid Texas drivers license

Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of Police Officer Personnel.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: District vehicle firearm handcuffs alarm system security equipment twoway radio alarm system and other security equipment fire extinguisher
and standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing
Motion: Strenuous walking and climbing; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent driving
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying 15 44 pounds)
Environment: Work inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun heat cold and inclement weather). Frequent districtwide travel
Other: Requires sufficient strength agility dexterity handeyefoot coordination hearing and vision to perform all essential functions of the classification including ability to react quickly and effectively to emergency situations. May be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions including violent and armed confrontations. Ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; prolonged hours; on call 24 hours a day.

Salary Range Min. $55801 Mid. $67308 Max. $78813(Based on previous experience)
Salary schedule with 3 of midpoint increase approved by the Board. Salary schedule soon to be released.
Salary is based on working the full contract of days; incomplete contracts (working less days) would be less compensation.
