The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the other members of the special education team to ensure a comprehensive special education program is available for all students in the district. The school psychologist will provide direct support and interventions to students consult with teachers families and other schoolemployed mental health professionals (i.e. school counselors school social workers) to improve support strategies and work with school administrators to improve schoolwide practices and Responsibilities:Participate in the Student Support Team (RTI Team) focusing on promotingstudent motivation and engagement individualizing interventions behavior management cognitive sociialemotional behavioral developmentaland academic assessments then complete written reports and participate in appropriate special education meetingsCollaborate with other members of the special education team to write and implement individualized goals for identified studentsMonitor student progress on individualized goals and communicate effectively with parents about progressProvides behavior and mental health based services focused on students individual needs such as social skills individual and group counseling problem solving anger management conflict resolution positive coping skills and resilience postive peer relationships social problem solvingMake referrals to and help coordinate community servicesProvide crisis prevention and intervention servicesHelp families understand their childs learning and mental health needsAssist school staff and families in navigating special education processes
