**8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. 4days per week

About the Department/Role:

This role will serve as a Charge Nurse role for Mission Control and Transfer Center (when needed). The role will require problem resolution escalation of barriers leading to increased length of stay and increased ED boarding times daily monitoring of bed board for CHE sites to support Bed Planning Mission Control Coordinators and Transfer Center team to place patients in the appropriate place timely. This role will create or support site leadership to create the staffing schedule as needed with Manager overview and approval.

Scope of Work:

The ChargeLead Nurserole is to provide direct oversight and supervision of all on line unit processes. This is inclusive of but not limited to staffing and scheduling changes affecting current shift patient care issues and concerns. Appropriate allocation of resources responding to all codes and handling employee issues and concerns. In addition to ensuring consistent flow of patients through the department. Functions within the framework of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates growth/development.
  • The CLN provides for and utilizes staff appropriately ensuring to match assignments with patient care needs and competencies; is accountable for cost effective decisionmaking regarding utilization of resources (i.e. human resources patient care environment supplies etc. and daytoday clinical decision making.
  • Participates in the development of patient care standards.
  • Facilitates staff orientation and continuing education; participates in the development.
  • Implements and evaluates quality improvement plans and maintains a clinical environment that demonstrates service excellence.
  • The CLN functions as a professional role model and resource person supporting the mission of Beaumont Health.
  • The CLN assesses the competency of staff and the level of clinical expertise needed to provide excellence in patient care. The CLN makes decisions that reflect consideration of patient census acuity staff mix staffs level of clinical competence and unit standards taking patient assignments as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • Required Associates Degree or equivalent Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Preferred Bachelors Degree BSN
  • Required Bachelors Degree For new hires or recent promotions with ADN or Diploma must complete BSN within 5 years of hire.
  • 2 years of relevant experience recent nursing experience. Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required Or
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CANADIAN HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
