Job Summary
Skilled mechanical work in the inspection operation and maintenance of wastewater pump stations. This entry level class lies below that of Plumbing Foreperson.
Essential Functions
assigned work orders and assembles parts and materials for work to be performed.
contact with dispatcher and Foreperson to receive emergency calls and report on work in progress.
wastewater collection systems and lift stations for vandalism state of maintenance and operational conditions.
pumps and control systems for proper operation.
system operating conditions.
and replaces pumps and associated equipment.
and repairs pumps motors piping controls and valves.
log books records of work performed and makes reports as required.
facilities and grounds in a safe and clean condition.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Probation: Six 6 months
Qualifications
Open Requirements: A two 2 year combination of education training or experience involving the installation repair and operation of wastewater collection systems pump stations and lift stations.
Promotional Requirements: NA
Licensing:Must possess at time of employment or by the end of the probationary period a Class C Wastewater Operator License or Certification from a training course such as (University of Florida TREEO (Training Research & Education for Environmental Occupations) center or comparable) and must maintain same during employment in this class. A valid Florida drivers license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.
