Job Description

EMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Harrisburg is located in the MidWillamette Valley between Eugene and Corvallis.

No experience needed! Harrisburg will provide training!

POSTING DATE: April 17 2025

POSITION: Educational Assistant Harrisburg Middle School

161 contract days per year for theschool year. Flexible hours with Harrisburg operating on a fourday school week (Monday through Thursday) and occasional Fridays.

SALARY RANGE: $16.91$22.77 per hour

Placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with experience

BENEFITS: Employerpaid insurance CAP to assist with health dental and vision premiums employerpaid Basic Life and AD&D policies. Paid personal days sick leave and paid holidays with a generous PERS retirement contribution. Applicable benefits will be prorated for the remainder of the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Completed application through TalentEd at: assistants for Special Ed may be required to have knowledge of ADHD autism anger and behavior management and physical health needs in children.
  • Basic computer and office machine skills.
  • Ability to assist teacher with behavior management
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to questions in oneonone small group situations to students and other school staff. Ability to verbally respond to common inquiries from students. Ability to read and interpret instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral schedule or diagram form.
  • Ability to work well with others from diverse backgrounds. Focused on solving conflict maintaining confidentiality listening to others keeping emotions under control remain open minded to others ideas and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with students.
