Job Description
General Purpose:
Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semiskilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required.
Essential Duties:
- Must possess a positive team attitude.
- Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment.
- Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
- Mows greens with walkbehind mower.
- Operates small machinery to assist with edging trimming and mowing.
- Prepares soil beds for sod seed and vegetative material.
- Involved with tasks related to course detail and debris clean up).
- Assists with golf course setup procedures.
- Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
- Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning plugging etc..
- Assists with handwatering and irrigation repairs as directed.
- Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
- Returns equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility as directed by the mechanic or supervisor properly cleaned and serviced.
- Maintains gasoline or diesel oil and other equipment fluid levels daily.
- Reports equipment problems and failures to mechanic or supervisor immediately.
- Returns equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility as directed by the mechanic or supervisor properly cleaned and serviced.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Regularly stands walks sits and uses hands reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops kneels crawls or crouches. Regularly talks or hears. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Environment/Noise:
Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (nonweather) and works near moving mechanical part. Occasionally works in high precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat (nonweather) and experiences vibration. Noise level is loud.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Valid Drivers License
Job Knowledge Skill and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or coworkers the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Weekend work is expected
- Varying shifts (e.g. split shifts) are to be expected when needed
