Summary:
Produces machined parts settingup and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities:
* Plan machining by studying work orders blueprints engineering plans materials specifications reference planes and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
* Operate mills by entering instructions including zero and reference points; setting tools offsets compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements include basic math geometry and trigonometry; proving part programs.
* Interprets and edits Gcode programming.
* Setsup mills by installing and adjusting tools attachments stops and indicating vices.
* Properly loads and unloads castings and raw material.
* Verifies settings by measuring positions firstrun part and sample work pieces; adhering to standards per company policy..
* Maintains specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
