POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

JOB TITLE: Vice Principal Preschool Administrator for 25/26 School Year

LOCATION:Multiple Locations

REPORTS TO: Principal

CALENDAR: 200 Days

HOURS: Full Time

SALARY: Placed on Administrative Pay Scale

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for daytoday building administration and providing a safe and positive learning environment for students and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Idaho Education Credential endorsed as School Principal PreK12
  • At least three 3 years of successful classroom teaching
  • Must possess nearexpert knowledge and skill in one or more of the areas listed and be willing to build knowledge and skill in other areas:
    • Special Education
    • Second Language Acquisition
    • Instructing diverse learners
    • Dealing with severely behavioral challenged children
    • Instructing children challenged by poverty
    • Specific subject content area
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may prescribe.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and enforce district policies and administrative regulations including the skillful handling of daily disciplinary and attendance problems guaranteeing due process to students.
  • Coordinate programs for support of student success i.e. Title 1 Special Education ESL behavior etc.
  • Maintain student discipline and work with students teachers and parents to maintain a positive school environment.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement and social welfare agencies.
  • Maintain the schools emergency plan including drills staff training designation of duties and replenishment of materials.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a safe and secure environment for students and staff including buildings and grounds.
  • Supervise school attendance program; oversee the completion of state and district reports.
  • Participate in the supervision and evaluation of school personnel as assigned by the principal.
  • Participate in the supervision of daily use of the school facilities.
  • Provide written and oral reports as requested by the building principal district administration and the school board.
  • Participate in buildinglevel and district committees as assigned by the building principal the assistant superintendent or the superintendent.
  • Keep the building principal informed of events activities and other routine matters related to the principals area of accountability.
  • Assume the responsibilities and duties of the principal in the principals absence.
  • Oversee campus safety including security crisis planning and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the principal.

  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the employee to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.
  • May be required to block or redirect students.
  • Must be able to effectively supervise and support staff when consequences are implemented including supervising physical restraint and seclusion if necessary for safety.
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
