PartTime Mental Health Clinician BIPOC Student Services 0.2 FTE)
Position Overview: Dedham Public Schools seeks 3 parttime 0.2 FTE) licensed mental health clinician specializing in culturally responsive care for BIPOC (Black Indigenous and People of Color) students. This position will provide support during Flex Blocks Strategies blocks and lunch blocks. The clinician will facilitate affinity groups conduct mindfulness activities and support the emotional wellbeing and sense of belonging among our students of color.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate culturally affirming affinity groups for BIPOC students to promote belonging resilience and empowerment.
- Lead mindfulness activities designed specifically for BIPOC students to support mental wellness.
- Document and track participation outcomes and effectiveness of group activities.
- Biweekly Equity Advisory Team meeting with partners from William James College.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed mental health clinician (LICSW LMHC LCSWPsychologist or equivalent) with a focus in culturally matched care.
- Bilingual fluency in at least one of the following languages: Haitian Creole Portuguese or Spanish.
- Demonstrated expertise in running groups for BIPOC communities.
- Formal coursework in culturally matched care and demonstrated practical experience applying culturally affirming therapeutic approaches to clients.
- Knowledge and experience facilitating Culturally Adapted Mindfulnessbased interventions. Documented clinical experience (minimum of 2 years) explicitly providing mental health services affinity groups or mindfulness interventions specifically tailored for BIPOC communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adolescents.
- Demonstrated specialized knowledge and clinical expertise addressing racial identity development racial trauma and cultural affirmation strategies.
- Exceptional interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with approaches to use in affinity groups that are specific to historically marginalized communities such as Racial Trauma Informed CBT Multicultural Counseling and Culturally Adapted Mindfulness
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in public schools or similar educational environments.
- Familiarity with MultiTiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Schedule:
- 0.2 FTE weekly flexible availability during Flex Blocks Strategies blocks and lunch blocks two days per week.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and qualifications.
