POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: CNC Instructor

District Employee Assigned to Claremore Campus

Exempt Certified Teacher FullTime 10month Staff

Starting Date: August 1 2025

Reports to: Campus Director

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. MondayFriday with 50minute lunch

Compensation

Package: $58973 to $75830 annual minimum salary commensurate with experience. Health dental vision paid life insurance and teachers retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave vacation and paid holidays. The total minimum compensation package is approximately $78973 to $95830 annually.

Primary

Function: Instructor is responsible for instruction classroom/lab management discipline inventory of tools equipment and supplies controlling lab projects ordering and recording purchase of supplies and equipment supporting board policies and growth public relations and representing Northeast Technology Center in a professional manner at all times. Instructors will work in a team situation with other instructors to train students to develop successful trade skills.

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Must qualify for a standard or provisional Teaching Certificate as defined by the Oklahoma Department of Education and Oklahoma Department of Career Technology Education. Currently teaching a Career Tech CNC program preferred. A minimum of five years of supervisory and/or training experience is preferred. Experience teaching high school and/or adult students in a shoptype environment is desirable; excellent communications and human relations skills especially with coworkers and students; proficiency in record keeping prioritizing and scheduling; ability to exercise initiative independent judgment and discretion in the performance of duties; know the importance of confidentiality.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Exempt Certified Teacher Fulltime 10month Staff

TITLE: CNC INSTRUCTOR

Hours:

8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with a 50minute lunch break. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all state and federal laws policies and procedures of the school district.
  2. Ensure that a pleasant safe and orderly climate for learning exists in the classroom.
  3. Upgrade teaching techniques learning styles and math/reading methodologies to deliver current and marketable training to students at a high professional level.
  4. Work cooperatively with staff in a professional manner to develop promote and improve educational services for students in desired occupational skill areas.
  5. Establish and maintain efficient and effective controls for expenditures of school funds following the adopted budget and school codes and produce appropriate requests and inventory controls as requested and necessary.
  6. Teach and perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with district and campus standards and the Board of Education policies and procedures.
    1. Meet and instruct students in assigned classes at the location and times assigned.
    2. Provide individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of instructional techniques.
    3. Teach students the skills and knowledge contained in the course outline to prepare them for related employment and state board exams if applicable.
    4. Responsible for instructional curriculum development and documentation of students skills and competence.
    5. Preplan units of instruction identifying information supplies and equipment needed as well as implementation of the appropriate method of instruction. Include handson activities to reinforce all assignments and involve all students in the theory and applications.
    6. Knowledgeable confident and prepared: know the program content well enough to teach and is prepared at the start of the lesson.
    7. Maintains accurate student records including attendance grades disciplinary action and academic progress using districtapproved methods and tools.
    8. Use current related resource materials.
    9. Schedule speakers annually from the industry to inform students of the opportunities available.
    10. Update course objectives and outlines as needed to remain current with the industry.
    11. Ensure that a minimum of instructional time is utilized for noninstructional routines to maximize time on task.
  7. Classroom/Shop/Lab Management
    1. Provide students with classroom and lab experiences that are related to current industry practice as described by the vocational standards.
    2. Organize class time so that classroom instruction laboratory work and cleanup activities can be accomplished within the allotted time.
    3. Evaluate each students performance based on knowledge and skills preparing progress reports and employment references for students.
    4. Efficiently and accurately maintain confidential student records of attendance absences tardies and makeup work for each student which may include time in the lab performance records and screening test results and reports as required by the State Department of Career Tech the district and any other governing boards by the required deadlines.
    5. Maintain a clean and orderly classroom lab/shop room storage room and office space.
    6. Maintain an emergency data file for each student enrolled.
    7. Prepare and submit reports as required by state and local school districts.
    8. Monitor equipment to ensure that it is kept in a clean wellmaintained condition.
  8. Discipline
    1. Organize the daily student assignments in such a manner that it minimizes the necessity for disciplinary action.
    2. Maintain discipline in the classroom and shop.
    3. Control and report infractions of school policy by students outside of the class/lab areas (campus area).
  9. Establish and maintain contact with an advisory committee consisting of area education professionals professionals and other members as needed and hold and attend the required amount of advisory meetings and reports each year.
  10. Inventory of Tools Equipment and Supplies
    1. Conduct an inventory of tools and equipment before the start of school.
    2. Report lost or broken tools and equipment as soon as they occur.
    3. Keep inventory of supplies at the time of purchase and dispensing.
    4. Prepare for a full formal inventory by school administration at the end of the school year.
  11. Advise a Student Organization
    1. Encourage 100 participation of all students in the program.
    2. Help and guide in the election of class officers.
    3. Help promote activities in the program.
    4. Assist and encourage students in preparing for and participating in contests.
    5. Assist in monitoring student behavior while in transit and during official district state and national student organizational activities.
  12. Control Shop/Lab Projects
    1. Supply work for each student at all times.
    2. Select projects to enhance each students training.
    3. Complete all information on contracts work orders and service orders before beginning and upon completion of projects or services performed.
    4. Order and record the purchase of supplies and materials to the proper repair order.
  13. Student Placement
    1. Assist students in completing a portfolio and assist them in job readiness skills by learning to complete resumes and job applications and prepare them for job interviews.
    2. Assist qualified students in finding a job in the field he or she is trained.
    3. Placement of the completers in related occupations according to board policy.
    4. Keep student files containing information to complete followup reports and placement assistance.
  14. Support Board Policies and Growth
    1. Be aware of and follow all established board policies and A.C.T. negotiated agreements.
    2. Complete all local and state reports on time.
    3. Attend all scheduled school functions related to the program.
  15. Public Relations
    1. Submit news articles on newsworthy events in your program.
    2. Assist in planning and completion of Open House.
    3. Represent the school professionally at all times.
    4. Assist in recruitment efforts for the program.
  16. Regularly attend designated work schedule. Must be able to work scheduled and extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.
  17. Any other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Superintendent.

Education Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Must qualify for a standard or provisional Teaching Certificate as defined by the Oklahoma Department of Education and Oklahoma Department of Career Technology Education.
  2. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Currently teaching a Career Tech CNC program preferred.
  4. Experience with CNC machining computer numerical control setup and operations and the production process
  5. Minimum of five years experience with supervisory and/or training experience preferred.
  6. Experience in making presentations before large groups.
  7. Evidence of skills to fulfill the positions responsibilities is important.
  8. Proficient in working with administrators instructors and staff to establish a schedule that will serve students efficiently and effectively.
  9. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  10. Cannot be related to currently seated district school board members within the second degree of affinity or consanguinity.

Job Knowledge Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  1. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously with associated deadlines.
  2. Excellent communication and human relations skills especially with secondary and adult students.
  3. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words rules of composition and grammar.
  4. Must be able to effectively handle multiple simultaneous and changing priorities.
  5. Must be capable of being calm and professional with numerous different personalities at various levels.
  6. Ability to exercise initiative independent judgment and discretion in the performance of duties.
  7. Able to maintain a program budget keep inventory and order supplies and equipment.
  8. Competent in the use of current technology especially computer software for classroom use email and internet applications. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Training and Meeting Requirements:

  1. View or attend required Safety Training either by video or in person quarterly.
  2. Attend professional development training opportunities as required by district policy.
  3. Attend meetings and all scheduled functions related to the program and provide information to the Administration or the Board of Education as requested.

Work Environment:

  1. Operate in a professional office environment classroom lab and/or shop.
  2. Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
  3. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  4. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Mental Demands and Dependability:

  1. Must be able to perform work indoors in a climatecontrolled classroom or private office or an outdoor environment with hot or cold weather conditions.
  2. Must be able to routinely perform physical work and computer work for an average of 5 8 hours per day when necessary.
  3. The position has a high requirement for effective hearing and both near and far vision capability performing work with limited physical exertion.
  4. Physical demands include stooping kneeling reaching handling occasionally lifting to 50 lbs. finger dexterity feeling near and far acuity depth perception field of vision naturally or with correction isolation close areas and good eyehand coordination or with suitable accommodations.
  5. Be able to perform under stress when confronted with emergency critical or unusual situations.
  6. Must be able to: care for oneself see hear walk stand lift bend reach climb stoop squat speak breathe learn read concentrate think and perform work by doing manual tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.

Temporary contract for the first year of employment.

Annual Evaluation:

The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with Oklahoma law and the provisions of the boards policy on evaluations.
