Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our Outpatient Pharmacy Team!
Sign On Bonus up to $5000 Offered for qualified candidates!
Location: Virginia Beach General Hospital & Travel/Float*
Status: Full Time 40 hrs/week)
Shift: Rotating 8 hr Shifts
Hours: 8:45am7:15pm
Weekend: Occasional Saturday 8:453:30pm)
Holidays: Occasional Coverage 8:453pm)
*Includes Travel to: Sentara Virginia Beach General Sentara Princess Anne Sentara Norfolk General Sentara Leigh Sentara Obici Sentara Careplex Sentara Williamsburg Regional
Mileage reimbursement for Travel
Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technicians scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- In addition to the above job responsibilities other duties may be assigned.

- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certification/Licensure
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
Experience
- 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
