This requisition is to establish a candidate pool for PVAMU students who are interested in participating in the PV STEP Intern program for Summer 2025. This is a candidate pool only and is ONLY open to PVAMU students. Your application does not guarantee that you will be selected at this time.

The PV STEP Intern under general supervision will assist the department in which they are hired with daily operations special projects and other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor. PVAMU seeks to establish a POOL of qualified applicants for potential employment in the as a PV STEP Intern for the Summer 2025 semester. This position is for a 10week program 06/09/2025 08/15/2025 in which student employees will gain valuable knowledge about a specific work environment while also receiving quality training. Internships can help confirm a students choice of major.
This is a nonbenefit eligible position with work available for up to 30 hours per week (hours will vary based on departmental needs).
Responsibilities:
Duties will vary by departmental need but the duties of a PV STEP Interns are beyond those of typical student worker position with specific goals and/or projects that are related to the students chosen career path that must be completed by the end of the 10week employment period.
Students are required to commit to the entire 10week program submit required documents to their application and provide a Project Summary at the end of their internship program.
Required Education and Experience:
Current PVAMU undergraduate or graduate student
Successfully completed courses during the Spring 2025 semester
Enrolled in the Summer 2025 semester or preregistered for the Fall 2025 semester
Must be a junior level classification or higher
Minimum of 2.5 GPA
Be in good academic standing
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Excellent customer service abilities
Other Requirements:

Commit to the entire internship experience 10 weeks 30 hours a week)
Provide a Project Summary at the end of the program (no later than 08/15/2025
Submit a Project Summary at the conclusion of the 10week program
Work Location:
This position is located on campus and is not eligible for remote work.
