DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Roadway Programs Technician you will be assisting the Roadway Programs Coordinator (RPC) develop and manage the annual work plan. This involves monitoring budgets analyzing work program expenditures and recommending adjustments to programs in order to meet budgetary limitations. You will be responsible for tracking planned maintenance activities ensuring sufficient quantities of materials and availability of equipment. Within this role you will have the opportunity to serve as the rented equipment coordinator monitoring usage preparing bids as well as responding to vendor inquiries. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Acting as backup to other staff members to ensure continuation of operations in their absence
  • Creating and monitoring roadside contract services
  • Purchasing supplies for county maintenance organizations
  • Organizing inventory records
  • Preparing items for surplus or transfer
  • Serving as the lead worker of the county storeroom
  • Acting as the County Right to Know Coordinator
