TITLE:ASSISTANT PRINCIPALQUALIFICATIONS:1. A Masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferably with a major in educational administration.2. Maintains a valid and current Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education certification as a Principal/Assistant Principal.3. A minimum of five years of experience in the field of education including experience as a classroom teacher.5. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.6. Ability to positively motivate staff and students.7. Must possess a sense of humor.8. Establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate for students and staff in the assigned school.2. Evaluating teacher performance and making recommendations to the principal regarding personnel placement.3. Ensuring the implementation and observance of all School Committee policies and regulations by the staff and students.4. Coordinating and administrating state and national testing programs.5. Providing for the development revision and evaluation of curriculum.6. Recruiting screening recommending for hiring training assigning and evaluation of the schools staff.7. Preparing reports and other administrative work regarded as appropriate to the effective operation and administration of the school.14. Resolving all discipline problems in a fair and just manner and maintaining appropriate records of said actions.15. May serve as Principal if so directed by the Principal in his/her absence.16.
