The Strategy Department of the King County Library System is seeking a Senior Organizational Project Manager to lead complex highimpact initiatives that drive longterm organizational excellence and strategic transformation.


In this position youll have the opportunity to:

The Strategy Department is a dynamic and collaborative group that is responsible for leading strategic development and implementation and assuring successful organizational performance so that the King County Library System (KCLS) delivers quality services makes informed and transparent decisions and achieves its goals.


This is an ideal opportunity for those with experience in project management skill with strategic planning and a desire to advance themission vision and valuesof the King County Library System.

King County Library System (KCLS):

Approximately 1000 engaged and passionate staff provide service in 50 community library locations and patron engagement using direct outreach programs and virtual assistance. Our service area includes cities towns tribal lands and unincorporated districts of King County with the exception of the city of Seattle.

Secondary Duties
  1. Provides backup to manage projects in flight as necessary.

Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • A valid Washington State drivers license is required.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) approved project management certification is required.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies change management or process improvement is desired.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a typical office environment. Work schedule may include occasional early morning evening and/or weekend meetings or commitments. Some travel within the service area is required. Incumbent may be permitted hybrid telework schedule upon request.
