You have completed a BS in Biological Physical or Applied Science. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You possess and apply an advance knowledge in a particular field of specialization and have completed projects of major complexity. You have worked in a related role for at least 7 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

Your Opportunity

This fulltime role is about making an impact on peoples lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Scientist/Chemist Supervisor in Richland WA you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. The Analytical Services function supports nuclear fuel reactor control component manufacturing and Environmental testing by performing analyses of products for chemical and mechanical properties. The Analytical Services laboratories are equipped with a wide range of instrumental analyses. Knowledge of at least three 3 of the following types of instrumentations is preferred with the ability to identify issues trouble and work with others to resolve issues: ICPMS Agilent; ICPOES Agilent; ICPMS multicollector Nu Instruments; Ion Chromatography Thermo Fisher Scientific; Gamma Energy Analysis (high purity germanium) Canberra / Mirion; Alpha Energy Analysis Canberra / Mirion; Microwave sample digestion techniques CEM. Analytical Services also uses Thermo Fisher Scientific SampleManager LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software for sample tracking results recording and reporting. Your work will include:

  • Ensuring personal and workplace compliance with company and regulatory agency policies.
  • 50 of time leading a team of 56 Scientist/Chemists providing them leadership guidance and technical direction in analytical and inorganic chemistry.
  • 50 working in conjunction with analysts and technicians to ensure a seamless transition from raw sample to results.
  • Monitor goals objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members.
  • Following strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and follows Good Laboratory Practices to ensure the safe generation of high quality and reliable data.
  • Support Interpretation and explanation of results to internal and external customers.
  • Support maintenance of a neat and organized laboratories.
  • Support lab instrument procurement and qualification activities.
  • Support preventive maintenance of instrumentation to maximize instrument efficiency and lifetime.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $123000 $167000 and may also include annual incentives performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications skill level competencies and work location.
