About the role

As Company Lawyer/Corporate Counsel for Hstens Group you will be a highly skilled and businessminded legal professional based in in Amsterdam who serve as a trusted advisor to our executive leadership and key business units. Hstens is operating in more than 40 countries and this role is responsible for providing comprehensive legal counsel across a wide range of areas including contracts corporate governance regulatory compliance intellectual property employment law and litigation management for the Group.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in corporate law a strategic mindset and the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear actionable guidance. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the companys legal interests supporting commercial operations and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will thrive in a fastpaced environment effectively manage multiple priorities and build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Advice and counsel: Advising Executives and Sales Staff on legal matters including contracts intellectual property employment law regulatory compliance and corporate governance. This involves interpreting laws and regulations and applying them to specific business situation
  • Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Reviewing negotiating and drafting contracts with vendors customers and other parties. This requires a strong understanding of contract law and the ability to protect the companys interests
  • Litigation Management: Managing legal disputes including representing the company in court or working with external lawyers. This might involve prelitigation dispute resolution discovery and trial preparation.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations. This includes developing and implementing compliance programs and identifying potential legal risks.
  • Intellectual Property Protection: Protecting the companys trademarks and copyrights. This involve enforcing intellectual property rights and advising on licensing agreements.
  • Corporate Governance: Advising on corporate governance matters such as board meetings shareholder agreements and corporate compliance.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Degree from an accredited law school.; Experience in corporate law.; Excellent legal research writing and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of working with individuals at all levels of the organization. Understanding of business principles and practices. The ability to translate complex legal concepts into businessfriendly language is crucial. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications skills and competencies

  • Juris Doctor (J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction
  • 5 years of experience practicing corporate or inhouse counsel law with a focus on contracts compliance and general corporate matters

Proven experience in

  • Drafting reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts
  • Providing legal guidance on regulatory compliance and corporate governance
  • Managing or overseeing litigation including coordination with external counsel
  • Intellectual property protection and licensing
  • Excellent legal research writing and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skillsable to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to translate legal concepts into practical businessoriented advice
  • Sound judgment and proactive risk management mindset
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations in areas such as employment law data privacy and commercial transactions
  • Business acumen and a strategic approach to legal problemsolving
