Job Description
Are you a seasoned Senior Data Engineer with 8 years experience Heres an opportunity to join one of SAs largest insurance groups.
Duties & Responsibilities
It Involves:
- Designing and presenting analytic solutions that meet business requirements
- Database optimisation (writing queries defining schemas and performance improvement)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Automate data infrastructure deployment and configuration of the following CI/CD principles monitoring logging and alerting.
- Support and maintain production and nonproduction of database systems and platforms.
- Guide and support junior team members through mentorship and training.
- Apply governance standards including data security ML SDLC change incident and release management.
- Assist with model development preprocessing feature engineering tuning and MLOps.
Requirements:
- 8 years of technical working experience in major data platforms such as SQL PostgreSQL Oracle RDS and their tooling.
- 4 years handson working experience with AWS cloud AWS data and analytics services such as S3 Athena Glue RDS Redshift Lake formation Sagemaker Lambda etc.
- Some experience in AI platforms like AWS AI Azure AI Google AI OpenAI Anthropic and Metais an advantage.
Education:
- Matric a Bachelors Degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering
