Job Description
Position Title: General Labourer
Position Type: Regular FullTime

McCain Foods (Canada) Florenceville Potato Processing Plant is currently looking for a FT General Labourer to join our team.
DUTIES:
- Responsible for following all safety requirements.
- Material handling of 25 kg boxes and bags.
- Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.
- Responsible for some sanitation duties
- Trouble adjust and maintain equipment as required.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPIs.
- Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
- Follow JHAs and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
- Dealing with production issues working in a fastpaced team environment
- Participate in Team meetings as required.
- Responsible for the yearly completion of the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) training and evaluation.
- Complete core curriculum Elearning courses
- All additional duties as they become assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 education or GED
- Basic computer skills would be an asset
- Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees
- Team player with excellent attendance
- Successful completion of 90 day training period
- Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
- Demonstrate continuous initiatives and involvement
- Highly motivated observant with good initiative and a positive attitude.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
- Willing to work shift work; nights and weekends.
- Must be selfmotivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a good safety record and demonstrate safety first on a continual basis.

Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability special training experience prior PEP Ratings attendance ability to meet the physical demands of the position education length of service and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidates suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
