Are you an experienced History and Politics educator ready to take on a leadership role
A highachieving independent school in Twickenham Richmond is seeking a Head of History and Politics to join their dynamic Humanities department from September 2025. This role offers the opportunity to lead a successful department and make a significant impact on both academic and personal development.
Head of History and Politics Role Overview:
- Lead History and Politics teaching across KS3 KS4 and KS5.
- Develop and deliver a relevant engaging curriculum that inspires students to become ethical citizens.
- Ensure excellent outcomes with 2024 results including:
- 100 AC in ALevel History & Politics*
- 98 Grades 94 in GCSE History
- Manage departmental planning assessment and budget ensuring alignment with school strategies.
- Lead and develop a team of teachers offering support and promoting effective teaching practices.
- Contribute to the wider school community including cocurricular activities and student welfare.
Head of History and Politics Requirements
- QTS (or equivalent) and a strong academic background in History and Politics.
- Proven success in teaching ALevel Politics and GCSE History.
- Leadership experience or potential with a commitment to raising academic standards.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
