What Youll Do
Seeking a wellrounded multitalented individual to serve as a Performance Assurance Specialist in one of multiple performance assurance areas of responsibility. The position necessitates that the individual be flexible in the ability to transition work assignments as needed based on Safeguards and Security (S&S) priorities in one of the following areas: Performance Testing SelfAssessments and/or Issues Management. All three positions directly support the performance assurance mission by reviewing collecting analyzing and reporting data resulting from various data gathering methodologies. This position will primarily perform duties in support of Performance Assurance SelfAssessments.
SelfAssessment responsibilities include: conduct internal integrated selfassessments of all applicable S&S topical areas at intervals consistent with risk management principles to determine the overall status of the S&S program and verify that S&S objectives are met. Conducts trending analyses of deficiencies to determine if systemic causal factors underlie multiple selfassessment findings and if so participates in the development of associated corrective action plans to address these causal factors. Conducts effectiveness reviews as necessary to validate that corrective action(s) effectively address causal factors and preclude recurrence. Writes selfassessment plans and formal reports describing each selfassessment and its findings including recommendations for resolution of identified issues. Plan coordinate and conduct field work to determine compliance effectiveness operability of S&S program elements. Conducts quarterly meetings with topical area stakeholders to disseminate field work/performance test results and current status of associated issues.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree and a minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.
- OR Masters degree and a minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 12or more years of relevant experience.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Possess strong writing public speaking and verbal presentation skills.
- Ability to meet deliverable schedule dates with a quality product and the ability to perform independently and achieve desired results with little supervision.
- Demonstrated skill in planning organizing and executing operational events and applying principles in Conduct of Operations Performance Assessment Root Cause Analysis and Trending of Performance Related Data to resolve issues and improve operational effectiveness.
- Knowledge and ability to assess implementation of the Contractor Requirements Document (CRD) for applicable Safeguards and Security topical areas which include: Protective Force Physical Security Systems Nuclear Material Control and Accountability Program Management Operations Information Security and Personnel Security.
- Detailed knowledge of Pantex and NNSA/DOE security requirements procedures and regulations is highly desirable.
- Highly motivated and possess teaming communication computing and organizational skills.
- Possess UCNI Reviewing Official and Derivative Classifier certification or the ability to achieve the certification.
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of technical issues.
- Demonstrated skill in analyzing operational issues and applying effective judgment in the analysis of proposed actions.
- Ability to work occasionally on weekends or evenings due to mission critical S&S Performance Assurance requirements.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
