The Office of Student Experience at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Manager Health and Wellness.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President Student Experience the Manager Health and Wellbeing will ensure we compassionately meet the health and wellness needs of an increasingly diverse student population. They will oversee health services working collaboratively with staff students physicians and patients to provide highquality holistic clientcentred care. The MSVU Health Office serves all MSVU students and also houses and supports an active family practice clinic that serves community members. The Manager will provide direct nursing care to students including triage and referrals and may provide some nursing support to the family practice doctors. The Manager will also provide support to the Office of Student Experience in risk management and afterhours student support.
The Manager oversees the administration of quality health and medical care and provides direct supervision to the clinic Office Manager and contract physicians as well as student health educators. This position is responsible for developing policies and procedures for University health and wellbeing issues health office operations including guiding staff and maintaining compliance with best practices as prescribed by applicable professional licensing organizations health care laws and regulations. This position will liaise with MSI manage department budgets and billings and ensure regulatory requirements are tracked and reported as required.
As a significant contributor to wellness at MSVU the Manager will support educational opportunities and wellness initiatives across campus and work closely with other departments including Counselling Residence Life and Athletics & Recreation.
The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with postgraduate experience in health care as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of five years management experience. Previous experience working in a postsecondary environment and with a diverse population is an asset. A Masters degree in Nursing or a health/social service field is also an asset. Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and have experience using electronic medical records. Experience using business enterprise systems such as Colleague PeopleSoft etc. is an asset. Candidates will be expected to have:
