Job Description
Summary
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. As First Class Mechanic you will inspect maintain repair Forklifts/Lift Trucks in a safe matter taking safety as the number one priority.
Job Responsibilities
Perform minor and major repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance on Forklifts/Lift Trucks.
Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures operate computers which control and monitor mechanical equipment.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required perform assignments in general maintenance such as: changing batteries in the industrial lift equipment or building maintenance duties house keeping filing and other general duties at our Distribution Centres.
Qualifications
You will provide your own basic tools of the trade and safety shoes.
Strong mechanical hydraulic electrical and electronic skills working with hands and power tools.
Hold a current and valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario; Automotive Service Tech or Truck and Coach Tech or Powered Lift Truck Tech.
Good communication skills read write and speak English.
3 5 years trades experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Flexibility to work on various shifts (days afternoons and nights) and weekends is a must and all other assigned duties.
