As a Summer Works team member youll be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment in our factories to assemble our products dishwashers refrigerators clothes washers and dryers to name a few. Operators work on assembly lines and handle parts to transfer operate or adjust the production equipment all while doing this in a fastpaced team environment and adhering to safety rules regulations and equipment requirements.

Summer Works team members also receive mentoring and professional development training that could include topics such as establishing your personal brand tips for managing your social media presence interview skills future job opportunities and more!

How Youll Create Possibilities

This is a temporary position within GE Appliances through the SummerWorks program and employment runs from early June 2025 through July 2025. Exact dates are to be determined.
Team members will work fulltime hours MondayFriday on 1st Shift (Can start as early as 6:00 am and end as late as 2:30 pm)
Pay rate is $18.26/hour

What Youll Bring to Our Team

This is a temporary position within GE Appliances through the SummerWorks program. To be eligible candidates:

• Must be registered with Mayors SummerWorks program

• Be between the ages of 1721 and be a resident of Jefferson County KY

• Be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction

• Be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English

• Pass a background check drug screening and complete and pass a medical health questionnaire

• Can perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accommodation including but not limited to:

  • Stand for prolonged periods of time handle various parts for assembly walk distances reach at waist level push/pull grasp/squeeze/pinch parts

  • Have fine motor dexterity and be able to use air tools

  • Be able to reach overhead reach at shoulder knee and floor level

  • Bend stoop squat crouch kneel crawl climb a ladder or stairs pivot twist extend and rotate your neck and use vibratory tools

  • Handle and lift parts and/or equipment of 42 pounds and push/pull equipment of 40 pounds

  • Work on and around heavy machinery in a loud environment

  • Follow work rules using judgement and working quickly and efficiently to meet work deadlines even under stressful conditions

  • Function independently and maintain attention and concentration

  • Be able to relate predictability in social situations to coworkers and to complex and simple job instructions and processes that may be written or verbal
