Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineering generalist to join our L3Harris Systems Engineering team. As a core member of the Systems Engineering team you will be responsible for aspects of the full Systems Engineering Vee including requirements management design verification test planning and and maturing the Digital Engineering / MBSE design. Experience within aerospace ISR image processing or EO/IR contexts is a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Lead the systems engineering activities throughout the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Develop system architecture requirements and specifications based on customer needs and technical constraints.
- Design plan and execute system or module level verification tests.
- Troubleshooting skills at both a system and module level to include potential for software mechanical and electrical or electronics faults.
- Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define analyze and validate system models and simulations.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including hardware engineers software developers and project managers to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
- Conduct systemlevel down to modulelevel tests and evaluations to verify performance identify issues and propose solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplined integrated product team (IPT).
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends emerging technologies and best practices related to systems engineering.
- Works to meet schedule constraints imposed by internal or external stakeholders as required utilizing project management skills.
- Creates professional datadriven presentations for briefing technical decisions or recommendations both to internal stakeholders and external vendors/customers.
- Collaborates with Configuration Management Technical Publications Reliability Engineering and other specialty engineering disciplines to ensure all requirements are adequately addresses and stakeholders considered.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in advanced Optical Systems EO/IR Sensors or ISR applications.
- Background in developing systems model and modeling software architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture Cameo Systems Modeler MagicDraw or similar SysML development tool.
- Verification and Validation (V&V) experience or Integration and Test (I&T) experience and use of test planning tools (e.g. LabView TestStand).
- Proficiency in hardware/software integration with the ability to collaborate with hardware engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages scripting languages dataloggers or advanced excel data analyses or MATLAB.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Computer Science Physics or similar degree path preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace/Defense sector.
- Environmental Testing / Qualification (ESS) experience.
- Experience working under an AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Familiarity with INCOSE and the Systems Engineering Book of Knowledge (SEBOK)
