Job Description
Embedded Tutor
Position Reports to Manager of Peer Support
FSLA Status: NonExempt $12.50 per hour
General Purpose:
- Tutors students within the classroom setting to enhance understanding and knowledge of course material and topics. Support faculty instructor in assisting students during class meeting times to augment faculty pedagogical efforts.
Duties:
Provide tutor assistance to students enrolled in assigned courses in oneonone and group settings during weekly class times
Attend all class sessions throughout the term including exam sessions to aid students in understanding the material as needed
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with students faculty and colleagues
Attend all required training sessions
Maintain open communication with assigned faculty member as well as Manager of Peer Support
Complete and submit biweekly time entry (for payroll purposes)
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
Grade of B or higher in all courses taken at MCCC in subject area for which tutor will be supporting
Commitment to assisting student learners strong interest in tutoring and commitment to education
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
