Job Description:
The Specialist Industrial Security is responsible for managing and safeguarding classified documents within a controlled environment. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and policies maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.These duties include the implementation of NISPOM DoDM 5200.01 and DoDM 5205.07 and IC Directives. The security professional establishes Security plans and procedures for the protection and safeguarding of National Security Information. Candidate is knowledgeable in information technology and information system security best practices.This position will also be responsible for assisting the personnel security team with administrative actions in support of the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Document Control: Oversee the receipt storage dissemination and destruction of classified documents in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Security Compliance: Ensure all document control activities comply with federal regulations including NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) and other relevant guidelines. Develop and maintain the programs Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Access Control: Manage access to classified documents ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access. Maintain accurate records of document access and usage.
- Training and Awareness: Conduct security training and briefings for staff on document control procedures and the importance of maintaining classified information security.
- Audits and Inspections: Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits and inspections. Address any findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Incident Response: Investigate and report any security incidents or breaches related to document control. Implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Records Management: Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all classified documents including logs inventories and destruction certificates.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of document control policies and procedures to enhance security and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other security team members departments and external agencies to ensure cohesive security practices and compliance. Provide necessary support to Cyber Security team in the implementation and maintenance of classified information systems accredited under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Assist the personnel security team to ensure efficient and compliant processing of security clearances.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience or High School Diploma and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience.
- An active Secret clearance ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Indepth knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117 DoD 5200.01 DoDM 5205.07 OPSEC and related security for a broad range of customers in DoD.
- Knowledge of resources and practices in the intelligence community; must be current on changing requirements.
- Knowledge of best practices in implementing physical security methods consistent with the heightened risk environment while minimizing adverse effects on staff and visitors.
- Experience in designing and conducting security education and training programs.
- Ability to implement compliance programs.
- Current DoD Top Secret security clearance eligibility; adjudicated and inscope U.S. Government T5 investigation.
