Job Description
- Operation and maintenance of the FTI RF equipment circuit and services.
- Proactively engage NOCC technicians to facilitate learning technical direction and the flow of RF operations.
- Review network event data and determine causes of alarms and events to conduct efforts to resolve RF issues.
- Scheduling and tracking preventative maintenance on FTI RF CPE and services
- Submits Program Tracking Reports (PTR) for facility equipment and service changes.
- Orders replacement parts for repair activities and tracks shipment.
- Assists RF Engineering with new equipment and service installations
- Supports oncall responsibilities and work afterhours as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Experience as a NOS working in the FTI PNOCC troubleshooting all aspects of the FTI/FAA communications network infrastructure.
- Experience in RF concepts such as RF Transmission Theory LineofSight Communication and Modulation/Demodulation
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Superior understanding of FTI implemented microwave radios such as the Aviat Truepoint 5200 Ceragon IP10/20 Aviat Eclipse and the Siemens Base Station and Subscriber Unit
- Superior understanding of FTI implemented satellite network architecture involveing the TMS3000 Commtech 570 AL satellite modem and the GDC Minimux
- Superior understanding of FTI DACs and multiplexing equipment
- Demonstrate subject matter expert level knowledge of RF service types service design and alarm generation and flow.
- Superior understanding of NAS Operations ticket management and scheduled maintenance proccesses and procedures.
- Above Average understanding of TDM circuit types in use on the FTI network
- Above Average understanding of FTI tools and software:
- Above average understanding of NAS Operations service types and service delivery methods.
- Above average understanding of event and alarm correlation.
- Highly motivated and capable of developing and following detailed procedures and action plans.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and ability to lead in a team environment.
- Project management skills capable of adhering to deadlines and completions of task according to project schedule.
- Selfdriven and resourceful to achieve goals independently and work well in groups.
- The ability to create and present training documents.
- Able to write technical procedures and bulletins.
- Possess a strong skill set with Mircrosoft Office software applications.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with other departments supporting Operations.
