Provides and assist in quality patient care in the Surgical Services Division under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.Job Description:
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provides appropriate direct patient care to patients under the supervision of Registered Nurse Prioritizes work and provides prompt and efficient service.
- SNA will be responsible for the Operating Room turnover.
- Duties to include but not limited to:
- Preparing the equipment for following case in each operating room removal of existing instrumentation and/or bed reconfiguring the OR room for the next case cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of mobile equipment connection and setup for appropriate equipment organization of all case supplies in the OR room assisting the nursing personnel with preparing the patients for surgery (ie positioning retrieving nonsterile supplies etc.
- Transports patient to the OR from the floorPeriop and all other patient care areas.
- Transports patients from PACU/Periop/IR/GI to all other patient care areas postoperatively.
- Transports specimens from OR to appropriate departments (ie. Laboratory Mammo etc.)Demonstrate sensitivity to patients comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.
- Assists/Performs preoperative preps for surgical patients under the supervision of the nurse.
- Adheres to hospital and nursing department P&Ps objective QI program safety environment and Infection Control standards.
- Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
- Maintains effective communication.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Maintains a sufficient level of patient related supplies stocks warmers with blankets solution both in the OR and PACU prepares bed linens rolls prepares nursing form packets ensures that sufficient amount of cotton razors reston measuring tape methylene blue petri dishes combs are in stock. Cuts up foams for positioning or ensures that sufficient supplies for patient care are in stock.
- Participate in an educational program and in service meetings
EDUCATION
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- HS Diploma
- Other: Completion of a Nursing Assistant or Surgical Instrument Technician program
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURECNA
- Certified Nurse Assistant
- BLSBasic Life Support Healthcare Provider
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
- 2 years CNA experience or Operating Room experience
- Previous experience in direct patient care preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Assist with lifting supporting maneuvering and adjusting the position of patients weighing over 200 pounds
- Ability to make fine discrimination in sound OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk)Occasionally pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations

Pay Range is $30.96 to $34.68 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidates experience education skills licensure and certifications department equity training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
