Your role at Sephora

We are seeking an experienced Lead Full Stack Java Microservices Engineer to join our dynamic team in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable highperformance applications using microservices architecture.

The Lead Engineer will focus on delivering highquality solutions through handson project efficient delivery team management stakeholder collaboration and quality assurance. This role requires expertise in managing development processes mentoring team members and ensuring smooth project progression while aligning technical outcomes with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust scalable and secure solutions for supply chain merchandising and digital merchandising functions. This includes:

  a) Design develop and maintain microservicesbased applications using Java and Spring Boot

  b) Create and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless communication between services

  c) Implement eventdriven architectures using Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing

  d) Develop responsive and interactive frontend applications using React/Angular

  e) Work with relational databases such as MySQL PostgreSQL and Oracle

• Project and Delivery

  Lead the development team in executing projects to meet defined timelines budgets and quality standards. Oversee daily operations ensuring tasks arecompleted efficiently and align with project goals. Monitor project progress resolve blockers and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful delivery.

• Technical Guidance and Mentorship

  Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams ensuring adherence to best practices conducting code reviews and resolving complex issues while fostering a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing. Implement best practices for software development processes to enhance efficiency and reliability. Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality

• Stakeholder Collaboration

  Work closely with product managers business stakeholders and crossfunctional teams to gather requirements and prioritize deliverables. Provide regular updates on project status challenges and achievements to organizational leaders and management level stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for technical aspects of project while ensuring alignment with business needs.

Were excited about you if you have:

• 8 years extensive handson experience in leading the and delivery of largescale software development projects across multiple domains such as supply chain merchandising and digital systems.

• 8 years strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot and microservices architecture

• 8 years extensive experience with React for frontend development

• Handson experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development

• Proficiency in working with relational databases (MySQL PostgreSQL Oracle)

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading crossfunctional teams

• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Strong problemsolving and analytical skills

The annual base salary range for this position is $173610.00 $192900.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors which may include as applicable the applicants qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate nondiscriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
